A pandemic of killer bugs has turned the world upside down. Many have migrated out of the cities, medical supplies and food are limited, and the casualties have mounted. But there are still those scraping a living out in this new world, unsure of what each day will bring or who they can trust.

Myra and Kellon Gray, a set of fraternal twins, are taking refuge in their families summer cabin in the middle of the woods while trying to make it on their own after the death of their mother. When a bleeding stranger shows up on their doorstep, their long simmering personal fears and interpersonal tensions rise to the surface, forcing them to ask themselves: what are we really hiding from?

Refuge is an exploration of survival, identity in the face of mounting death, and the constant redeeming power of love. We can never tell our loved ones the entirety of what they mean to us, but join us as we try.
