The use of space was actually BRILLIANT! I’d seen the reading before in a proscenium and was blown away by the script alone. But the added intimate element of a small house in the round was played off with beautifully!
What I didn't like
A little engagement with the audience actually felt like a missed opportunity at the end when Myra notices “you’re all here!” As if we’re her family. It’s totally not necessary, but could add a new layer of bringing the whole room together in her final departure out the door.
My overall impression
An absolute diamond of a show. Relevant, powerful in the most delicate way, and too good to be just a flash in the pan. MUSTSEE!!
