What I liked

I really liked how the show flowed and how it was cohesive in plot. By that I mean that it wasn’t confusing to watch. I also liked the moments when the young twins were more upstage of Yellow Girl. That in a way creates a depth of space to the small stage and for me also simultaneously brought more attention to the twins and made the experience of Yellow Girl watching them seem more real.

What I didn't like

For some of the audio, it was hard to hear Young Yellow Girl. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing. I also thought that that was a quality that actually added to the experience. So, this is just a question of intent really and thought I’d just bring it up.

My overall impression

This show was truly a joy to watch! It really knows how to stir all the right emotions. It is warm, nostalgic and funny. It’s both heart wrenching and endearing. Jeannette Srinivasan (writer/director) does a brilliant job of telling a story that is heavy in topic yet delicate, vulnerable and aware in its execution. The three actors are each distinctively captivating in their roles and truly do a wonderful job at connecting with the audience and bringing them along for the ride that is memory lane for the lead of the play. Watching this show was truly an intimate experience and this is only enhanced by the small space that is the Hudson Guild. I really did love watching this show and might just watch it again!!! Definitely recommend that others go to see it!
