Lindsay is an incredible performer - she had us laughing and crying throughout the piece, never letting the energy in the room drop. Cultural references had to people from both sides of the Atlantic howling with laughter, and through music and physical comedy “Trust me, I’m from Essex” managed to tackle quite serious content while leave us feeling optimistic with the outcome....

'Trust Me, I'm From Essex' is a deeply personal story told with hilarity and poignancy. It never holds the audience hostage when delving into pain, but instead proceeds with tenderness and British charm. It moves quickly and is delightfully relatable. Lindsay is definitely a talent who is easy to love and root for!...

Funny and witty yet vulnerable. Somehow Lindsay gets you to laugh and cry within the same sentence. A clever way to bring you along the struggle and life of an aspiring actress from Essex. A real joy to watch and I only wish it was longer....

Lindsay Lucas-Bartlett's one-woman show is an honest, clever, and sensitive coming-of-age tale told with charisma and charm. Lucas-Bartlett gets vulnerable in the sweetest of ways and holds your hand through the hardest moments of her life before setting you free to celebrate her achievements and growth right along with her. This debut (non)musical sings in its simplicity and the ease with which its star transports us through the phases of her life and all the love and loss one experiences along the way....

Loved this show so much. Felt very much like stepping into someone else’s shoes and getting to experience life through their eyes. I teared up a bit from Lindsay’s authentic and powerful expressions of her experiences, and also laughed through her wit and dry humor. She has a wonderful voice as well and the hilarious short songs were a fun addition. I’d recommended this to anyone who can handle a few curse words haha! Great show. ...
