“American Pain” examines the opioid crisis through the eyes of a single mother living in West Virginia. When poverty-stricken Jenna Sayre gets a job selling Purdue Pharma’s miracle drug Oxycontin, she is over the moon with happiness. She can afford everything she’s ever wanted for her son Donnie, including a chance to be part of the prestigious Shep Master’s Youth Football League. But soon she and Donnie both learn Purdue’s promises are not what they seem and their sweet American dream becomes a nightmare.
