This fascinating and timely one act show accurately captures the horrors of the opoid crisis. It is told energetically by our speaker, Jenna Sayre (excellentantly and charismatically portrayed by Stephanie Burden) who details the personal problems she creates by being good at her job, namely selling Oxycotin to the masses, via her bubbling personality and marketing skills. This is a must see for everyone, American Pain is a deep dive into one persons experience with the opioid epidemic. The writer weaves the story so beautifully and with such care you are swept up in this woman's life and her journey. It's funny, heartfelt, incredibly real and blisteringly sad all at once. Not many people can weave all of those emotions together so seamlessly. But this play does. It is top notch all around and definitely a play you leave having a profound emotional experience that will have you talking about the topic for days to come.... full review
