What I liked
I absolutely LOVED that this show was a charming, honest and relatable coming of age story that highlighted a multitude of relevant topics such as racism, generational gaps, parent/child relationships, queerness, self-acceptance in addition to the process of overcoming childhood trauma while in adulthood with a dash of sarcastic humor.
What I didn't like
Pacing and Projection.
My overall impression
An endearing and emotional rollercoaster that I was not prepared for. I assumed that they show was only going to be about the process of coming out but I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful storytelling as it unfolded to discover that this narrative was much more than that. A journey of learning to love one’s authentic self and find one’s truth.
