What I liked
Everyone in the audience is Nick! But then there’s also an actor playing Nick to say what we’re supposed to be thinking and saying. I love it!
Also, there are snacks.
What I didn't like
It’s impossible to see the whole show when the audience is divided into groups, but that’s just the nature of the immersive show, I guess.
My overall impression
As someone who has read the novel five times, I can say with some authority that this is a faithful, if modern, re-imagining of the book’s first chapter. The tensions between Daisy and Tom are made ever the more uncomfortable when you’re faced with joining them at the dinner table rather than reading from the comfort of your sofa at home.
Looking forward to future chapters, especially chapter 3.
