There are people who revere the Group Theatre in the same way others revere the Beatles, Ernest Hemingway or Pablo Picasso. They have read every memoir, history, (auto)biography of Harold Clurman, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Elia Kazan and Clifford Odets. They have read and/or seen performances of every play the Group mounted or even thought of producing. They have hunted down and watched every snippet of every studio system screen test of any actor who was a member of the Group, even if only for one season. And they strive to fully understand how--for seven or eight months in 1935--the voice of everyday Americans was ... a theatre company. I am one of those people. You have to admire the cojones of Greg Crafts and Theatre Unleash... full review

Following the format of Lefty, the play is told through vignettes each capturing a social/economic/political/moral choice we are facing today as a society. Tightly written and beautifully staged. This was an hour that asks the audience to think and not immediately assume the opinions or beliefs of anyone based on gender, sexual orientation, political party, status, or ethnicity. ... full review

Artfully written, consciously directed, and deftly performed - this showing was truly a politically charged, formidable theatrical showing! Surviving in our world today is no easy task as the piece shows us in vignette after vignette. All who are affiliated with "(It's Been 76 Years and We're) Still Waiting for Lefty" should feel extremely proud of this undertaking! I certainly know I was proud to be in the audience.... full review

The play makes use of vignettes just as the original did but the framing device that holds them together is not a union strike, but a poem that is heard via recording by a woman who asks us to like and subscribe her feed on social media. This may not be as successful for we don’t get to see people interact with each other we only hear that we are losing ourselves to technology and though that does connect to the first vignette where we watch a man and wife argue over the demands of his delivery job with (we presume) Amazon (only because she mentions the failed strike attempt) as he tells her that it’s only a matter of time before robots take all the shipping and delivery jobs, it doesn’t act as the strongest connective tissue between scenes... full review

This beautifully captured the tragedy of our humanity as a country and as a world at large. I loved the different scenes and the way flowed together. This piece is a reflective time capsule that reminds us where we are as society right now in 2020 and 2021, for better or for worse. ... full review

Brilliant. I was absolutely blown away by this show which, unfortunately, is so real, especially considering what is all around us. Taking from the themes of "Waiting For Lefty" and weaving them into our current cultural landscape, this piece had me laughing, crying, wanting to scream, wanting to crawl into a ball...the writing is just plain brilliant, as was the direction and commitment to the theme and tone by all of the actors. The lighting, sound, use of live feed, space, shadows...it was all wonderful. The movement pieces were so engaging.... full review

A visceral experience in blending poignant, relevant storytelling with the exact form of delivery being commented on (as a virtual audience member). A unique and worthwhile performance that encapsulates the many questions of the day without burdening themselves with the lofty goal of answering them.... full review
