The writing/lyrics. Loved the humor and social commentary/references. The actors were all entertaining and the music was catchy.
What I didn't like
None that I can think of.
My overall impression
Full disclosure: I’m not a person who typically enjoys musicals and as a result, have very limited exposure to it. I’m more of a person who gets a kick out of gothic operas than the bubbly, brightly-packaged song-and-dance of musicals (remind me to catch Les Miserables). GATB really made it palatable for a curmudgeon like me. I was very impressed with the musical score and how catchy the songs were – I found my head bopping to the melodies. It reminded me of the Disney tunes I heard as a child by Alan Menken. The wit, satire, social commentary, and snark infused into the storyline were also a delight. I remained thoroughly entertained throughout. Hat tip to the talented cast, crew, composer/writer. I’m going to have to give musicals more of a chance.
