I enjoyed the pacing, writing, general compositional style, melodies, and depth of characters. Everyone was in their niche and yet the characters felt fresh and independent. The show felt very periodic while also maintaining a distinct musical theatre style. Well done! Excellent staging at LA Fringe and lovely cast as well.
What I didn't like
Some of the humor could use a little more specificity/consistency – does everyone in the cast break the 4th wall? Do they all have a relationship with the troubadour or can only some see/interact with her? Who can see the audience? BUT my main suggestion is, turn this into act 1 and write an act 2 showing the future of Gideon and Alanna. :)
My overall impression
Witty, fast-paced adventure with lovely tunes and lots of heart.
