August 09, 2021What I liked
I loved the integration of technology in this play with hand held cameras and multiple camera angles, which created two different type of performances for in person and virtual viewers. It also provided an intimacy that normally isn’t available to virtual audience members.
The debut performance by lead actress Juliette Lin was heart wrenching and wholesome. I can’t wait to see her light up the stage again!
What I didn't like
The sound and video quality can be improved for virtual audiences. I also think that the camera angles should be tested and set in a way that doesn’t require the camera people to move them around constantly. It’s distracting and doesn’t allow for smooth transitions.
My overall impression
A thrilling story exploring a not so unbelievable future, where AI and Virtual Realities have taken over our lives. This play tackled the conversation of what defines reality and what is free will through a diverse cast of characters and heart warming relationships. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the ethics behind our burgeoning tech industry.
