What I liked

The show is incredibly witty while also being accessible and not pandering. I find this a very complicated balance and am very impressed with the clever crafting and writing of the show. “1.5 Korean” is smart and delivers exactly what they want to say. Pamela is such a physical performer and the other physical comedy moments (like the K-Drama sketch and the final OMD) really hit! Another highlight includes Arthur’s candid and moving monologue about his family and journey.

My favorite sketches were the callbacks, the 1.5 Korean calculation, and the moisturizing sketch.

What I didn't like

This is incredibly nitpicky, but the “White People Noise” didn’t have consistent sharp movements. (I feel strongly this will come through throughout the run.)

My overall impression

“1.5 Korean” was SUPER fun! I loved how much personality and point of view are infused into every sketch! Arthur and Pamela’s chemistry is INCREDIBLE and have created an engaging re-introduction to live sketch performance. Balancing fresh and fun sketches with recurring jokes, the show flows and packs a lot of punch in a short amount of time. You won’t want to miss it!
