What I didn't like
Everything works in this show. Rebecca’s bravery, humor and self awareness in “Getting There” is a lesson in how to triumph over your situation through embracing your circumstance and telling your story.
My overall impression
Rebecca Obrien’s patchwork of stories has the illogical logic of taking a bus ride through the streets of LA; You’re not always sure where you’re going, but in the end you reach the destination. Full of nuance and colorful details, her stories of riding the bus to treatment with her service dog Stella are at times humorous and at times heartbreaking, revealing a deep sense of gratitude to be among humanity in all it’s vibrant forms. I felt it was Rebecca’s personal valentine to her support system of fellow passengers, drivers, friends, and ultimately, her audience.
