What I liked
Beautiful writing, a meaningful story performed with vulnerability and humor. Rebecca honored and celebrated her fellow travelers who « breathed the same air » on those sometimes chaotic bus rides. Over time, these strangers sometimes cracked open Rebecca’s heart because they saw the pain and loneliness under her brave and beautiful exterior. Rebecca found her extended team not only with close friends but with strangers. She accepted a helping hand whenever it was offered; in turn, she offered her gratitude, calm, and ability to see beauty in unlikely places.
What I didn't like
I am savoring this wonderful experience.
My overall impression
A very moving portrait of Rebecca O’Brien who did not let a difficult cancer or lack of financial means to make the journey easier diminish her vibrant spirit and ability to bloom wherever she was planted…especially on the #217 Fairfax Ave. Bus! A great story beautifully told!
