My overall impression
Ciera Payton sets such an intimate setting with this expositional one woman show. I felt like I was being told a touching story by a close friend. The colorful personality of New Orleans and its natives are shown throughout the show. The most intensely gripping moments were Ciera’s portrayal of her loving-from-a-distance mother and her tell-it-like-it-is father. Ciera’s commitment to painting the scenes and the warm temperature in the actual theater made the audience feel like we were in New Orleans!
