What I liked
Such a powerful story told in a way that honors Margaret Garner’s life, heritage, and ancestry. The characters were so vivid and real and the way she moves between all the different characters with distinct movements and accents is incredible to witness.
What I didn't like
I wish the final words of the play could have been reserved for Yemoja or Margaret, as I think it would have made a greater impact coming from either of those voices, rather than someone on a speaker.
My overall impression
Just wow! Absolutely blown away by Makena’s performance. She has such a commanding presence that demands respect, attention, and sheer awe. Wonderful directing and performing!
