Really enjoyed the moments of levity that helped prepare me for dealing with such a tragic historical situation.
What I didn't like
Would have liked to have the translation of the African ancestor.
My overall impression
Well written play, taking me from sad to hopeful. It was a reminder of how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go. Makena was superb as an elegant ancestor, and just as superb as the sad Margaret who experienced such a difficult choice that pushed her from extreme sadness to madness. Overall left we being thoughtful about my role in making a better future for my children.
