All the reviewers correctly laud Tyson’s vulnerability, wit, and power. I’ll add that the “gimmick” of bouncing between a corporate presentation and the betrayal Tyson suffered while working as a presenter creates a beautiful depiction of the masks we all wear, and includes the weird ways our most soulless jobs can still teach us what we need in life (in Tyson’s case, the electronic controls on a high-tech car). While her ability, as a performer, to bounce between the shock, grief, and fury of her “real life” and the charming professionalism of her presentation is absolutely astounding.
What I didn't like
Hard to say. The show left me wanting more, but I also love its brevity and punch. Maybe there’s a full-length play for Tyson to create from this material, but this was pretty perfect as it was.
My overall impression
A marital betrayal serves as the catalyst for a woman to realize the controlling rules she has lived under all her life, and to discover how to begin to break from them.
