What I liked

The writing and crafting of this show appear effortless on the surface, which tells me Heather put a lot of her blood, sweat, and tears into it by making it look that way. She has a vulnerability that is empowering. She is a force to be reckoned with. Bravo!

What I didn't like

I don’t know what to improve.

My overall impression

From the start, I was engaged. Heather is so likable that I would go along for any ride she wanted to take me on—which she did. Heather was in the driver’s seat of this emotional ride that was not only about her life in relation to boxes (whether it be checking them off or filling them up or getting rid of them) but also about unrealized expectations. For me, that’s where the tragedy and the comedy meet, making this piece so strong and heartfelt. While some writers/performers could easily come off as “woe as me” for similar circumstances to hers, Heather doesn’t. Not once. Instead, through reflection and her own observations, she steers the course and takes control of the wheel (I’m using the driving metaphor obviously for a reason), and by the show’s end I know I have nothing to worry about—because Heather is going to be okay.
