My overall impression
This show grabbed my heart from the start and was willingly sent on a whirl of emotions throughout the performance. David is easy on stage, both funny and sincere without any seeming effort and he has a beautiful story he shares here. The tale he tells is just as the title suggests, which I appreciate, and he shares the details of caregiving and illness in a way that is entertaining and very honest. He tells a full story with a beginning, middle and end which offers the audience a real emotional and perhaps (in my case) a cathartic experience. This is the gold standard of theatre, in my opinion, and I am so thankful to David for sharing his story with us and offering us the opportunity to have this emotional journey filled with wisdom, humor and a shared sense of connection to our loved ones.
