About the Project
“Love in the Underworld” is a one-person occult musical exploring the quest for love when you live in a deeply cynical, Orwellian hellscape. Enlisting the help of the Tarot deck and invocations to the God’s, Samantha Church utilizes soulful blues songs and personal monologues in the hope of becoming open to love—even when all seems lost. The Eureka Times-Standard has called the show, “an amazing, introspective journey,” and “one of the most honest and gut-wrenching, tour-de-force performances that you could ever encounter, anywhere.”
