While it is certainly understandable that a certain band would be protective of its brand, it’s tragic that they will likely never know or understand what this project was trying to do.
My overall impression
As someone who possesses little knowledge of the history of the band upon which Mostly Crude is allegedly based, I cannot comment on the play’s accuracy. I can, however, comment on its entertainment value, which it brought forth in spades! It’s a tale of success and tragedy, pride and rebellion. That’s a lot to pack into an hour! One can see that this was written as a labor of love and, with due respect to the other players, Ryan Ruffing’s performance as “Niky” owns the show from beginning to end.
