You don't have to know who Bill Ratner is to love this performance. Hard to add anything new to the other "Loved It" reviews without giving things away. Suffice it to say that you should not miss Bill Ratner's wonderful spoken memoir. Ratner epitomizes why people love memoirs.
I recommend the front row. ...

Bill Ratner tells a story that is so visual and so well put together that the time flies by and you are left hoping for more. Not only does the story hold the entire audience's attention from start to finish, it also makes your feelings run the gamut from laughter to tears. Go see it, you won't be sorry!...

To see and hear Voices In My Head is to become familiar with the motivations and fears of a masterful storyteller. It is through confronting his own shadow that Bill casts light, and even humor, into the dark regions of experience. I walked away feeling buoyant and constant in a life ever changing. This is highly recommended for you! Yes you!...

An hour well spent! Bill Ratner's story is a delightful journey through poignant, whimsical, sorrowful, and humorous events in his life. He somehow manages to share moments of loss and tragedy without coming off as self-pitying or like he has any agenda other than letting you time travel with him a bit. Oh and the short musical interludes are a lovely topper!...

Bill Ratner has a voice like butter. But he is not just another pretty voice: there is a keen intelligence behind it, and he weaves a magic spell with VOICES. We are caught up in this magic carpet ride retelling of his life and it is quite a ride! He is funny, and he can sing! His stories dance on the edge of tragedy without falling in and he survives it all with grace, humor and compassion. It is a memorable hour for all of us! Don't miss it. ...

Reading over what others experienced, I feel like the weird curmudgeon in the closet. Maybe all the buzz raised my expectations far beyond anything that could deliver on that anticipation. I left a bit disappointed. I came in wildly curious about what life is like for such a master of the voice-over and, as Ratner hinted, there are oodles of stories about that professional life. I guess those are the "inside baseball" stories I wanted to hear, far more than heartfelt (and amusing) tales about his childhood and relations with relations. I felt warmed, not thrilled - and maybe in a harsh world, that's more than enough....

Bill took me on a wonderful ride - I was sitting with this smile on my face listening to his story when all of a sudden, tears rolled down my face, then a laugh, smile, tears. He's a masterful story writer/teller whose voice enveloped me and carried me away. Truly a great experience!!!!...
