Some of my favorite moments were the people who Tony met along the way, the woman who told him I don’t want to be your “Receptacle of Sadness”. But one of the most moving and hilarious moments was a man who told him that fear is only in your heart, a particularly moving moment. This real life Paulo Coelho type preceded to be an undercover cop taking Tony to a drug bust, which was a hilariously unexpected twist.
What I didn't like
I would only say that I’m excited to see how his show grows and I’m excited to see what Tony does next!
My overall impression
This was an insightful uplifting show that makes you count your lucky stars and think a lot about what we have to be grateful for in our society. Tony took us on a journey of what it was like to be homeless in Los Angeles and it’s a story that has to be told considering the rapid rise in homelessness post pandemic. He was unabashedly himself, a romantic, a droll standup comic, but also a survivor and a fighter who despite all the tragedy in his life, has kept his sense of humor, warmth and shown his true resilience.
