I loved that there weren’t too many stage transitions. It’s really difficult to pull that off in a one man show. It can suck the air out of each moment. He had different areas of the stage that represented different parts of himself he revealed. I loved how open he was with us, and we got to see what a beautiful person he is, and how he got that way. I loved the big release at the end. The show had a clear through line and climax. Extremely well done. He has a great voice for comedy and theatre. Also radio!
What I didn't like
The theatre got a little too hot and stuffy. Maybe some fans in there?
My overall impression
This was a beautiful exploration of the history and trauma of a comic’s life as a homeless man in Los Angeles. We moved through the story with peppered stand up bits, watching Tony develop through his comedic techniques. A beautiful, funny, moving, ride.
