No one has done the “start over” routine quite as effectively and hilariously as Tony. The double-dub voice bit was inspired. Also, Tony handled some microphone issues with ease – a true pro. And the backing band perfectly complemented many of the jokes with improvised musical bursts.
What I didn't like
It’s a stand-up show. Sometimes, a joke doesn’t work. With Tony, the vast majority of them did.
My overall impression
Tony is truly one of the best local stand-ups I’ve seen in years. His energy and style are singular, with some inspired running gags and bits – including some “based on truth” storytelling from his years being homeless in LA. I laughed A LOT, and you will too.
