I loved the rhyme of the show – Samantha always knew the right time to bring levity to a dark issue or go deeper. As someone with a family member with bipolar disorder – it felt like an equal telling of the grief that those who struggle with mental health face and those who support them.
I’m still surprised that there are lines of pure poetry that stick in my head alongside a song about all the words for a vagina – all from one brilliant show.
What I didn't like
Samantha did an excellent job at weaving together every detail – paying off each one of her choices. The beginning of the show felt confusing for only a few moments but was rewarded again and again by the show as it unfolded.
My overall impression
A show weaved together so gently and beautifully that it breathed on its own. Samantha not only “entertained” us with her quick-witted jokes, musical numbers, and character switch-ups – she also brought us on a journey so powerful that it left everyone with a new reverence for life.
