I especially loved her angelic higher self character guiding her throughout the show. With humor and a southern twang, Samantha takes on the persona of a loving mentor in a way that makes you feel loved and seen and held. She looked at the audience and told us we were beautiful and I felt like she was talking directly to me. Don’t even get me started on the SONGS! Samantha has her pick of careers. Her songs are beautiful and easily at the caliber of her becoming a famous singer songwriter. “I want my life” The closing number left me in ugly tears in which I had to finish crying in my car and go home in silence because the shows impact was that guttural, raw and moving.
What I didn't like
NOTHING!
My overall impression
ONE OF THEBESTSHOWS I EXPERIENCED AT HOLLYWOODFRINGE! Samantha gave one of the best female performances. As someone who has experienced a lot of family and loved ones take their lives, it was especially magical and cathartic to see someone finally do it so right! She handles mental health with the grace, honor, and compassion it deserves. She has wisdom way beyond her years and her show became a safe space much like the office of a trusted therapist. Weaving improv and inner wisdom in an astounding and ethereal way. I recommend this show to anyone and everyone! It’s like a book or movie that changes your life and you want to rewatch it, but you can’t do it right away because its effects stay with you for a long time.
