What I liked

I have to say this piece seems to have been written with no holding back! No sugar coating which is to me so important. This show was based on true life & told from a victim of abuse & a mother! The delivery of the material, the substance & meat of this piece was absolutely chilling! I was so moved because, we just don’t know people’s stories! I’m just in awe with Lorinda Hawkins Smith! I felt a pulse with the drums that set this tone of life of an abused victim who was a wife, a mother and more importantly a human being! I really think everyone should see and expirence this true life journey!

What I didn't like

I wish there could have been a Q&A. I just wanted to know how & where she is now & the guts to share her story! There seemed to be some minor tech issues at start of play, but was soon forgotten when Lorinda Hawkins Smith hit the stage!

My overall impression

I felt as though, I was able get to see & witness how things are not always what they seem & to be in a position of authority sometimes requires a gift discernment. It easy to just try to put people or something we don’t understand in a box, rather than listening or getting a better understanding. This show made me stop with this preconceived stereotype notion and listen & find out more before you judge. Wow! Amazing! This is a message for right now and to be honest should be understood for all of us, especially we who live in this world of diversity. A must expirence!
