On Site . . . ON STAGE!

On Site was originally written and produced as a comedic mockumentary pilot with a ten-episode story arch. As with most mockumentaries, the camera plays an important role, as characters have an intimate relationship with it in all confessionals. On stage, the audience becomes the camera.

Derek Setliff is the Michael Scott of Property Management. Just ask him how important he is, and he will be glad to tell you! On Site explores the world of a small apartment complex and a diverse cast of tenants and employees, including Derek himself, a 30-something gay property manager with no experience dating men who so desperately yearns for connection. Sure, he may need to work on his boundaries a little, but he’s got a heart of gold and wouldn’t hurt a fly!

Derek explains in this first scene, on June 1, 2020, that he has 30 days to fill 3 apartments, or he will lose his job. On Site takes a look at the lives of current tenants, along with the new tenants who begin renting these units. Ultimately, we find most of these neighbors yearn for connection while also being the ones in their own way, preventing this from happening. These tenants, and Derek, need to find a way to be vulnerable in order to find the connection they so desire and deserve.
