The “putting on shoes” routine was old-school clowning at its best.
What I didn't like
There wasn’t really an overall arc for the show – it was hard to engage without a clear escalation or build, and connective tissue would have helped make it feel more purposeful.
My overall impression
Dana has created a truly original character; child-like, enthusiastic, and menacing in equal parts. She subverted clowning expectations and really engaged the audience in her intimate solo show. One gag, involving a pair of finicky shoes, had me in stitches.
