What I liked

Covode’s energy dominated the stage. Her character work convinced the audience she was actually growing up on stage before their very eyes. Funny, painful, and so simply good, this show was a perfect slice of adolescence. Covode balances silly with serious perfectly, and even in the more serious moments was still perfectly childlike in a way that was fitting with the rest of her show.

What I didn't like

Nothing. This show was great and I cant wait to see what she put a up next!

My overall impression

Christine Covode’s breakthrough one-woman show was a stunning 60 minutes you never wanted to end.
Covode’s childlike abandon throughout the show strengthens the bittersweet of growing up and presents a convincing portrait of the struggles navigating childhood. Her writing is a fresh and honest take on the topic of growing up that left the audience both in laughter and tears. Everyone should come see this at Fringe Festival— her interpretation of the relationship between parent and adolescent child will leave you reflecting on your own upbringing with new lens combined with a warm nostalgia.
