What I liked

It is a unique world that we are privileged to spend some time in courtesy of the writer’s unique voice. At the performance we saw, the actor playing Cody (Omar Salazar) was breathtaking – he captured every nuance of the playwright’s vision, supported by a strong committed cast.

What I didn't like

Some of the actors had projection trouble, even in the small house which was frustrating. I think the director could have given the uncle character more time to breathe a little, ground him a little. A good performance that needed a touch of reality.

My overall impression

Beautiful and heartbreaking – despite some slight performance issues that can be tweaked (some projection issues, and one of the characters in my mind was played over the top), gifted playwright Montana Cypress paints with a vivid indelible brush. The characters are compelling, memorable and linger with you long after the show is over. One of the best of the Fringe for sure. I could see this playing Off-Broadway.
