Over WAY too soon. I wanted to spend the entire evening with these wonderful actresses. Boom Stick walks the precarious tightrope of pathos and laughter and sticks the landing with unprecedented skill, honesty, warmth and even hope. And anything Lauren Sperling touches will be gold.
This was my first official Fringe show this season, and it’s impossible to imagine anyone topping this. ...

A tight one-act that explores a deep friendship at its most heart-breaking moments. The first of what I hope are many Fringe productions from the BoomStick team....

A charming two-hander exploring the acceptance of mortality at a young age. Whitney Montgomery and Lauren Cook have great friendship chemistry onstage and hop well through rather quick beat changes. A heart-warming and thoughtful way to spend a half-hour!...

Funeral Potatoes is such an endearing show. The script is short and sweet and gives you a beautiful little glimpse into the lives of two best friends as they deal with the incredibly hard fact that one of them knows they're going to die soon. This show hit really close to home, and the wonderful acting, writing, and directing of this piece tied together to tell a really lovely story....

Perfectly succinct, Funeral Potatoes gives you just enough to both emotionally invest in the characters of the play and to realize that the experiences depicted can and likely will occur in your life in one form or another; navigates discourses of death that, while providing no 'answers', encourage you to begin asking questions we too often avoid....

A poignant and emotional time in the lives of two very close friends becomes a reflection on our own life as we hear and experience some of their pain. The writing is very good, and the two young actors brought life experience seemingly beyond their years along with them as they take us through a journey that causes all of us watching to feel their insecurities about what is about to happen. I could feel the audience being moved almost to tears, as was I....

A great story with a great message. When I leave a show thinking about an aspect of life- no matter if it is about friendship, love, social issues, etc.- and I want to do something about it for myself, I feel that is evidence that a story was done or told well. That is exactly how I felt leaving Funeral Potatoes. I also appreciate stories like this because they are a big part of the healing process for audience members who may have gone through similar things. This helped. Thank you. ...
