What I liked

I love larps and the ability to be a character. The characters themselves were pretty cool concepts. I love Rock Band and the ability to rock out in front of people. I love murder mysteries and a story that unfolds. I LOVED the space! I enjoy spotting clues that no one else found yet.

What I didn't like

I feel like people who didn’t get to be part of the band didn’t get to experience one of the perks of Rock Band Murder Mystery, being able to play Rock Band in context. There wasn’t a lot of Rock Band really, which was disappointing after getting an initial huge list of songs to look through at check in. The story was fun, but for a murder mystery the clues seemed to unfold at the same time for everyone, with mainly the same information. I never felt like I had special or different info from the others. The story itself and pace of clues felt a bit rushed, which was frustrating for an otherwise fun story. Maybe go for a longer timeframe or additional conflicts/suspects? Final critical note: If part of the value add to the slightly higher than normal Fringe ticket price is offering snacks and drinks, it’s a letdown when those snacks have been left out for hours and picked through from prior shows, remaining bits being few and stale. The small touch to make sure the new group gets a refreshed spread I think is a big deal, especially as later show times are generally a good draw for this type of show.

My overall impression

A fun concept and a fun night in a fun space, with some disappointing factors overall.
