The show was very well put together and the required co-ordination of the “voice in the back ground” with the video images and the story telling, along with the emotional acting brought out the entire story of each scene.
The entire story of Tom Lehrer was presented in a way that made me feel like I was listening and watching Tom Lehrer present this historical story of how satirist comedy was created and brought to the masses.
What I didn't like
I think that a larger, more elevated stage would have worked better. I felt that if Allan Murray had the bigger stage that along with his ability to bring us the emotional side of Tom Lehrer, he could have used the larger stage for more of the physical part of being able to express Tom Lehrer.
My overall impression
The show was about a comedian whom had a story to tell the world which was very well told by the imagery, music and acting. Throughout the show I was immersed in this engaging story of someone I didn’t know very well but found myself wanting to know more with each bit of the presentation.
