A longer run.My overall impression
Out of the gate to and through to the finish line, Allan Murray’s The Layers of Tom Lehrer is a show so electric-I saw it twice! A first. Opening and closing nights. Murray pays an ardent tribute to mathematician, satirist, singer-songwriter, and musician Tom Lehrer, with Adam Sartain’s voice-over as his agent. The show is an elegant warp-speed ride of a genius’ inner world, humility, humanity, showbiz career ups and downs, and his meteoric brilliance in the scope of an hour. Murray is the character. In tune and on time. I wish the show ran longer than The Hollywood Fringe Festival because I can hardly wait to watch Allan Murray on stage again.
