What I liked

The casting and acting in this show is EXCEPTIONAL all the way around! Leah Verrill tackles a difficult and painful role with incredible subtlety and is a sheer force of personality in one of the finest performances of this Fringe, while Lenny Hernandez shines as her teen/20-something son who undergoes changes for both better and worse as he grows up. Jim Martyka’s performance is understated but crucial; his role is instrumental in both leads’ character development, but Jim’s performance provides welcome comic relief without shifting the focus from the depth of the story. And Christian Blake Splitt is stellar as the best friend.

What I didn't like

I don’t have anything, but I also recognize that the subject matter means this show will not be for everyone. Still I encourage everyone to see this show!

My overall impression

A powerful piece that examines what our beliefs can give us… and what it can cost us if we hold on too tight. Aaron Kozak is a regular Fringe writer for a reason, and this is one of his most moving and challenging scripts yet. The cast he assembled is up to the task, most especially Leah Verrill and Lenny Hernandez, who shine particularly bright as the mother and son at the center of the play.
