A powerful piece that examines what our beliefs can give us... and what it can cost us if we hold on too tight. Aaron Kozak is a regular Fringe writer for a reason, and this is one of his most moving and challenging scripts yet. The cast he assembled is up to the task, most especially Leah Verrill and Lenny Hernandez, who shine particularly bright as the mother and son at the center of the play.... full review

This show takes seeming caricatures of religious nuts and grounds them into real, complex characters who are reactions to their upbringing. The actors are solid, and the message is an unexpected, moving surprise.... full review

Wow! From the writing to the acting, Saving Cain is a powerhouse of talent. Aaron Kozak's exploration of the subject matter is both deep and extremely pointed. Even as it branches out he manages to keep it succinct and timely. He tells a dramatic story with such levity and familiarity that it goes down smoothly while still being impactful. With Leah Verrill and Lenny Hernandez the emotion is so close to the surface it's palpable. They're able to convey complicated character development with ease. Saving Cain is definitely a can't miss!... full review

The show delivers powerful performances that are absolutely mesmerizing in moments and it is definitely up there on my list of productions who should be commended for best use of a projector. There are some questions about the script that make me wonder whether I missed a beat for at least one character makes a pretty significant leap from one brand of faith into another that might not be fully earned. Though it is not news to learn that one instance of pain management in a person's life could get that person addicted to drugs that leads them into a downward spiral, the way it plays out here feels half-explored. We have a character who was brought up in an extremely repressed religious environment who becomes an irredeemable addict yet th... full review
