What a wonderful and important show. Lisa Verlo is marvelous as she strikes a blow against the misogyny of Hollywood. Her naïveté is charmingly portrayed, and I loved the songs and the use of Barbie and Ken as both metaphor and exemplar. Don’t miss this one. ... full review

This was one woman’s incredible journey but it’s also all of ours. We take these weird encounters as normal in this business, and then one day, we look up and say, “What?! You mean this isn’t normal? Lisa makes it hilarious and empowering. Her original songs belong on Broadway.... full review

Entertaining, dishy and relevant in the time of Me Too. For anyone wondering what women routinely experience in the entertainment industry, this show provides a candid, insightful peek behind the curtain.... full review

Well written, with humor and truth, HOLLYWOODN'T brought back memories of my days working in the modeling industry and though I got away without the usual "Hollywood scars", I was surprised by how close I've gotten to some things that Lisa encountered in her journey, hoping for her big break. I hope that many men will see the show, so they can see how vulnerable women are, and I hope many women will see this show, so they can nod in agreement, and take comfort, that they are not alone in their experiences, no matter where they come from!... full review

An amazing story that needs to be told. Verlo explores sexuality from all angles in a way that's so fascinating and nuanced to see all come together. She did an amazing job showing many of the defining moments in her life without telling you what to think. You just felt it. The show is witty, poignant, brave, and in our culture - so necessary! A super honest, beautiful performance that will leave you with so much to think about long after you leave the theater. ... full review

I saw this show for the first time at The Whitefire Theatre/ Solofest 2019. What a treat to see it again! I love how Lisa is brazen in her performance. She is my inspiration to be brave in my show. She spoke about subject matters that most women would be hesitant to reveal, especially today. Lisa embraces all her choices and rolls around with them on stage orchestrating a beautiful performance with song and hilarity. Hollywood is still crawling with predators feasting on young hopeful starlets. This show is wonderfully entertaining and savvy.... full review
