As a foreigner, one of my pet peeves is when actors over-work accents. But there was no Dick Van Dyke-ing here. The characters were so embodied and natural, from their voices to their rhetoric to their body language, that I forgot I was watching a play. The story, though about a very specific and complicated historical time/place, was well-crafted to be relatable and engrossing.

My overall impression
Exquisite writing, beautiful performances. A lyrical, sensitive, and powerful story that will stay with you.
