What I liked

Loved the script and performances. Special kudos to Soda Persi for the knockout movement and dance. As a small extra, I liked that I could decide who my favorite super hero was at the end and get their button. A little thing that added to the experience.

What I didn't like

You know, I can’t think of anything I would improve in its Fringe incarnation. I would love to see what a larger theatre with a huge tech budget would do with this. That being said, they did a hell of a job in this venue.

My overall impression

TATTERED CAPES was totally unique and surprising. It started out like I thought it would but then took me in a whole other direction that caught me off guard. A love story wrapped in super hero capes and other dimensions, but it had the common themes of love and relationships that we all experience: Finding out things we didn’t know about our partner, the changes in dominance, outside forces, our friends’ influence, and, ultimately, whether we really love each other for the long haul or not. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t love this show. You don’t have to be into super heroes to appreciate this terrific work, and congrats to Gregory Crafts and his imagination!
