The staging of this play was interesting and real. The actors breaking the 4th wall with the audience was inspired and at one point my direct contact with an actor who did this made me cry. (No spoilers.) I especially liked the care and research that went into this project.
What I didn't like
The turtle never seemed real to me. I think a different handling of that prop could help us feel Chuck was alive! :) But that’s a tiny thing in an otherwise lovely performance. I really have nothing negative to say at all!
My overall impression
This play bravely takes on a VERY important subject that is being totally ignored. I applaud this creative team for bringing this play to the Fringe. One has only to drive a street away from the venue to see this play in reality everyday. I think theatre at its best tackles the important subjects of the day. Kudos to The Flower Society!
