The “origin story” monologues about how each woman had found herself reduced to street life were powerful and felt true-to-life, and thankfully avoided casting blame on the audience as a proxy for society. The performances were fantastic, particularly during the preshow.
What I didn't like
Without revealing any details: one character’s apparent situation involved deception, both of others and the audience. I felt cheated, particularly given how convincing the portrayal of the feigned situation was.
My overall impression
A haunting and poignant piece, brought to life by some exceptional performances.
