What I liked
I laughed out loud during the DUI sequence with Jeremy Ebenstein, I loved Megan Peck’s voice and my favorite song was Superman, especially Claudia Rosario Olvera’s endearing performance. The effective utility of the different-colored chairs was clever, with some cool trickery during the final ensemble number.
What I didn't like
Scene transitions within the music could be smoother and more cohesive to better connect the storylines. The energy and character business during the ensemble numbers could be sharpened to better enrich the songs.
My overall impression
There are parts that are genuinely funny and profound, along with some stand-out performances. Although this musical seems like more of a work-in-progress, the intended power and beauty of the message resonates!
