What I liked
The ensemble was strong and balanced. Every actor’s performance had moments that had me laughing until I shook. I swear the woman behind me laughed until she snorted at least twice. Special kudos need to go to Lauren Van Kurin for her ability to bounce back and forth between the many bizarre characters she played.
What I didn't like
I don’t have much to add here. I was thoroughly entertained. Even the fact that the actors were’t all trained singers was a non-issue for me because every song was a comedic, heart felt expression of each over-the-top and lovable character.
My overall impression
Earth to Karen was a raucous, insightful, and endearing look at the life and times of the “Diaper Lady.” The story skillfully moves us from the inception of Karen’s ‘life, post diaper’ to her ultimate ability to embrace all that she is – diaper and helmet included.
