What I liked

The drumming set the mood immediately. The interplay between choreography and script kept the narrative clear, while mining the unspeakable depths of emotion between the lines. The ensemble was a well-oiled machine.

What I didn't like

The actresses’ stories were heart wrenching, and I wanted more interaction between them and Selznick—to learn more about him through his behavior, rather than sidestepping his responsibility by ascribing their treatment (and the awful consequences that followed) to a faceless “studio system”.

My overall impression

Magnetic, haunting, and purely theatrical.
