The drumming set the mood immediately. The interplay between choreography and script kept the narrative clear, while mining the unspeakable depths of emotion between the lines. The ensemble was a well-oiled machine.
What I didn't like
The actresses’ stories were heart wrenching, and I wanted more interaction between them and Selznick—to learn more about him through his behavior, rather than sidestepping his responsibility by ascribing their treatment (and the awful consequences that followed) to a faceless “studio system”.
