What I liked
I loved when I could see each cast members’ personalities come out, yet they remained a really solid unit all the way through. Great work!
The Scarlett O’Hara casting story was kind of a perfect narrative to use for exploring male power and female identity in Hollywood.
I loved the beautiful singing voices. The live percussion onstage and stylized movement was hypnotic.
What I didn't like
I did find myself straining to hear a couple of the women … mostly I think this cast can really trust the work and bring out their energy, within it, even MORE.
Plus, I believe there’s a LOT more humor to be mined! But I saw their 1st show …. I can only imagine this (already) beautiful and solid show becoming even moreso through the run!!
My overall impression
Wonderful ensemble work, beautiful movement & singing. It felt odd, at first, joining up the Gone With The Wind casting story with this kind of physical theater, but it worked!
