The acting was great. The rapid pace delivery of lines kept the story moving along nicely. The colorblind casting was perfect. The clever and oftentimes humorous transitional dialogue made the complex set changes almost unnoticed. The transitions were also enhanced with an original soundtrack created by the playwright. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend that you see “George.”
What I didn't like
If the play were to be performed in a less intimate venue, I would suggest wearing wireless microphones so that nuances of the excellent acting don’t get lost.
My overall impression
As someone who has lived in George Lucas’ hometown all my life, I was intrigued by the concept of this play. We made to trip to the Hollywood Fringe Festival to see the play for ourselves. Not only did we enjoy the play immensely, we hope to bring the cast and crew to Modesto to perform “George.” to the town that annually celebrates “Star Wars Day” on May the 4th and has a month long “American Graffiti” Festival. I know that Modesto will love “George.”
